Let's go through the main steps to disassemble and replace the battery in the remote key for a BMW 5 Series. First, take your key and use something thin and pointed to pry open the side of the key shell, allowing access to the remote; this gives you access to the circuit board and the battery, as shown in the video.

At this point, remove the old battery and replace it with a new one of the correct type; then close the two halves of the remote by reversing the procedure!
