Power Steering Pump Disassembly Instructions

Model: BMW Serie 3 E46 - Years 1998-2006
Part: Pump

The power steering pump is located at the lower right front of the engine compartment. To access it, position the vehicle on appropriate jack stands and remove the right front wheel and the corresponding wheel well. At this point, remove the auxiliary belt by loosening the tensioner and take off the power steering pump pulley to access the mounting bolts at the front. Additional bolts are located at the rear, and to complete the disassembly, disconnect the hose from the steering box. During this maneuver, be careful to collect the hydraulic oil.
