How to Replace the Rear Shocks on a BMW 3 Series E46?

To replace the rear shocks on the BMW 3 Series, remove the two rear wheels and lift the car on a shop lift or jack stands. Now, remove the bolt that secures the shock to the wheel hub support, and then move to the trunk. Here, after removing the trunk carpet, you can unbolt the other mounting points of the shock and pull it out of its seat. Now that the old shock is removed, install the new one by retracing the steps of this procedure in reverse order. Finally, lower the car from the lift or jack stands.
