Replacing the Interior Door Handle on BMW 5 Series

Here’s how to proceed if the trim on the interior door handle of the BMW 5 Series is damaged and needs replacement. Using a plastic lever, remove the upper shiny trim of the panel and the frame of the opening lever. This gives access to two screws; once unscrewed, you can remove the door panel, disconnect all wiring, and unscrew the four screws that secure the handle. The window switch will come off with the handle, which you will remove to reuse with the new handle, putting everything back in place and securing it with its screws. Reconnect the various wiring, secure the panel in place, screw in the two screws, and replace the handle frame and shiny trim in their positions.
