How to Replace a Wheel Bearing

Even when the issue with your car refers to just one bearing, it's always advisable to replace both. If you find yourself in an emergency situation and cannot replace both, the following guide shows you how to do it yourself. First, remove the wheel and extract the bearing by striking the opposite side with a hammer at multiple points around the rim for a more even release. Before inserting the new bearing, clean and grease the seat where it will be positioned. Then, position the new bearing by gently but firmly tapping it into place with the hammer.
