How to Replace the Cabin Air Filter for the Air Conditioning

Model: BMW X5 E53 - Years 1999-2006
Part: Cabin air filter

First, locate the position of the cabin air filter. It is located in the engine compartment, positioned in a plastic housing immediately under the windshield as indicated by the red arrow in the image. At this point, simply lift the plastic cover to remove the old filter. Replace it with the new filter, placing it in the same orientation as the old one. The cabin filter should be replaced every 15,000 miles or at least once a year. This operation was performed on a BMW X5.
