Replacing the battery in a BMW 3 Series is a very simple task you can do yourself, thanks to our brief video tutorial that will show you the steps to follow. The first thing to do is open the trunk and remove the clips on the battery cover located on the right side. Once the cover is removed, you can take out the battery from its housing. Start by disconnecting the negative terminal first, then the positive terminal. Never perform this operation in reverse, as it is very dangerous. After disconnecting the battery, remove the rest of the cables and then insert the new battery, connecting the positive terminal first and then the negative. All that's left is to turn on the vehicle's ignition and then the engine itself. After that, you will need to register the new battery using a computer and OBD port.
