To reset the brake wear light on a BMW 3 Series, turn on the ignition so you can navigate through the menu options on the onboard computer. Use the button located at the end of the left steering wheel lever to scroll through the menu.

Once the icon indicating the remaining miles until brake pad replacement is displayed, press and hold the button for a few seconds to reset the light. To verify that the reset was successful, turn off the ignition and then turn it back on.
