On the BMW 3 Series, you can reset the brake wear light by turning on the ignition using the button located to the right of the steering wheel: this will allow you to scroll through the menu that appears on the dashboard by repeatedly pressing the BC button on the lever to the left, until the range appears.

Now, you need to press and hold the button to the left of the dashboard until the icon of the car with the brake wear light appears: while holding the BC button, you can now reset the light and then turn off the ignition.
