In this tutorial, you will see how to manually open the tailgate on the BMW X3, a very simple and quick operation to perform, for example, in case of a lock failure or a dead battery. First, open the right rear door, then activate the indicated lever and fully lower the seatback.

Next, go inside the trunk, remove the battery protection panel, and locate the lock, which you will activate using a screwdriver or an equivalent tool. The tailgate will now be free to open and repair.
