How to remove the door panel on BMW 5 Series E39

Model: BMW Serie 5 E39 - Years 1995-2003

Start by removing the screws located in the upper lever of the door opening and those in the handle, after removing the window switch panel. Use a plastic lever to detach the locking clips of the door panel. Run the plastic lever along the perimeter of the panel, then use your hands to detach the panel and unhook it from the door. Disconnect the power harnesses and the opening cable before completely removing the panel. Now you can remove the door panel. If necessary, you can now install a new panel or reassemble the existing one.
