How to Replace the Key Fob Battery on a Chevrolet Cruze

To replace the battery in the remote key fob of a Chevrolet Cruze, press the unlock button and extract the mechanical key from the fob. Once the key is out, you will see a slot in the housing where it was inserted. Insert a small flathead screwdriver into this slot and gently pry apart the two halves of the shell. After opening the fob, locate the button cell battery inside, usually a CR2032 type. Remove the flat battery, taking care to note the orientation, observing the position of the positive and negative terminals. Insert the new battery, ensuring the same polarity. Close the shell by pressing the two halves together until fully engaged and reinsert the mechanical key into its slot. Press the buttons on the fob to verify that it works correctly and that the vehicle responds to the commands.
