How to Replace the Battery on a Chevrolet Silverado

To replace the battery on this vehicle model, follow the procedure described below for a safe replacement. After lifting the hood, the battery is located on the right side.

First, disconnect the negative terminal, then the positive terminal, and remove the fuse box located above. Remove the battery from the engine compartment and take the new one to place it in its housing.

Then reconnect the positive terminal first, followed by the negative terminal, and finally reposition and secure the mounting screws for the plate.
