How to Replace the Fuel Pump in a Chrysler PT Cruiser

Model: Chrysler Pt Cruiser MK 1 - Years 2000-2010

Before you can start, open the fuel cap of your Chrysler PT Cruiser, then disconnect the battery to work safely. Begin by lifting the rear of the vehicle. Next, you will need to disassemble and remove the fuel tank by disconnecting the relevant hoses, unscrewing and removing the fixing bolts, and disconnecting the various electrical connectors. Once done, you will need to prise off and remove the fuel pump cover. Proceed by disconnecting the various hoses and electrical connectors attached to it, then unscrew the relevant retaining ring. By doing this, you will have freed the fuel pump. At this point, you can extract the fuel pump from the tank, completing the disassembly. To install the new fuel pump, simply follow this procedure in reverse, and you will have completed the replacement.
