How to change power steering oil

In this video we see an empirical method for changing the power steering oil. In this case it is being changed on a Citroen Xsara, but the method is valid for any type of vehicle. The optimal method would be to disconnect the return hose, place it in a container, start the car, turn the steering wheel to the right and then to the left and let all the oil drain out. With this system the oil is sucked out: there may be a few drops left, but we can be satisfied with that. We buy a package of the recommended fluid from the manufacturer, and do not skimp on quality. We will also need a suction syringe that we can find for example on Amazon with the code B0BF4NK5FF at a price of 10.95 euros, free delivery for Prime customers. We suction all the fluid from the reservoir, then we put the car on a jack, turn on the ignition and turn the steering wheel to the right and then to the left, to recover as much fluid as possible. We wait five minutes and then start adding the new oil, repeating the same operation of turning the wheels, making sure no bubbles have formed and waiting a few minutes. We repeat this procedure three or four times. Take a test drive making as many turns and roundabouts as possible so that the oil is distributed evenly. Check it again after about a thousand kilometers.
