Performing a Full Service

Model: Citroen Xsara MK 1 - Years 1997-2006

Position the vehicle on suitable ramps to facilitate access to the oil sump; place a container to collect the used oil and unscrew the drain plug from the oil sump (clean it before refitting); then proceed to remove the oil filter located at the front of the engine: a metal strap wrench is required to unscrew it; apply some oil to the gasket of the new filter before screwing it in, without exceeding the tightening torque, and fill the engine with new oil until reaching the maximum level. Next, replace the air filter by unscrewing the fixing screws of the airbox cover and finally replace the fuel filter by disconnecting the inlet and outlet pipes, unscrewing the cap to extract the old cartridge, and performing the bleed through the designated screw. Then reset the service message on the instrument panel by holding down the trip reset button and turning on the ignition, waiting for the countdown.
