How to replace the stabilizer bar on the Citroen C4 Aircross.

Let's see how to replace the stabilizer bar (or anti-roll bar) of the Citroen C4 Aircross. Remember that after performing this operation, it is absolutely necessary to align the front wheels. Do not skip this step; otherwise, the vehicle will wear the tires unevenly in just a few hundred kilometers.

Lift the car and disconnect the ends of the bar: it is secured to the frame with two supports with rubber bushings and to the suspension with two arms. Loosen the upper nut (without removing it) and disconnect the ends of the control arm. It is essential to count the number of turns to completely unscrew it from its threaded seat, a crucial operation to preserve its pre-adjustment.

Locate the two "U" supports that secure the bar to the frame, held by two nuts each, which we will remove. At this point, the bar is free; slide it out from one side of the vehicle. Install the new rubber bushings without using grease, just silicone spray; insert the new bar by reconnecting the "U" supports, without tightening them completely.

Mount the new ends with the same number of turns that we counted earlier. Connect the ends, insert the end pin into the hole of the suspension, then tighten according to what the workshop manual indicates: put the wheels on and perform the alignment.
