To replace the EGR valve in a Citroen C4 Picasso, open the bonnet and locate the component in the engine bay, typically positioned between the exhaust manifold and the intake manifold. For safety, disconnect the negative battery terminal and remove any covers that obstruct access to the valve. Disconnect the electrical connector and any connected pipes, then unscrew the fastening bolts and extract the EGR valve from its housing. Clean the contact surfaces thoroughly, removing any deposits. Position the new valve, screw in the fastenings, and reconnect all previously removed connections. Refit the engine covers and reconnect the battery. Finally, start the vehicle and check for any warning lights or irregularities in engine operation.
