Changing the key battery on a Citroen Xsara Picasso, here's how to open the key. Take the key remote and pry between the two halves until the plastic covers separate, then extract the worn battery with a screwdriver. Get a new battery of the same size and voltage. Insert the new battery into the key, fit the cap onto the key remote cover (join the two halves) until you hear the click of locking. Check the remote's functionality by pressing the lock and unlock buttons on the door locks. If it doesn't work, check the inserted battery.
