Thermostat Valve Replacement

In the cooling system, this valve can gradually open as the temperature rises, allowing the complete flow of fluid when it reaches an optimal temperature for the specific system. Sometimes, due to rust in the system, this valve can become stuck and may cause serious engine damage. This maintenance operation must be carried out with the engine cold. The thermostat valve is located near the air filter, below the aluminium elbow to which the hose is connected: therefore, unscrew the hose clamp and the two bolts of the aluminium flange; then extract the valve and insert the new one, tightening the various bolts. Check the coolant level before starting the engine and also after the valve opens, which will occur once the engine reaches its operating temperature.
