Instructions for Removing Driver's Airbag

Model: Citroen Xsara MK 1 - Years 1997-2006

Before proceeding with the removal of the airbag, disconnect the battery to avoid triggering any warning lights. The airbag is secured to the steering wheel with clip springs: simply loosen these springs to detach it. There are slots behind the steering wheel where you can access with a medium-sized flat screwdriver and lever towards the centre of the steering wheel to loosen and release the springs. Once all springs are released, gently pull the airbag away from the steering wheel and disconnect the connectors by first opening the locks.
