Citroen Xsara - Video tutorial

Model: Citroen Xsara MK 1 - Years 1997-2006
Part: Airbags
Operation: Steering wheel controls repair

If it happens that the buttons of the steering wheel controls that govern the functions of the radio do not work, then there is a problem either with the buttons or with the electronic circuit that manages them: to access this circuit it is necessary to remove the airbag; before proceeding with disassembly, disconnect the battery; the airbag is fixed to the flywheel by two torx pins located just behind the steering wheel spokes: then unscrew these pins, move the airbag away from its seat just enough to disconnect the detonator sockets; then unhook the steering wheel control push-button panels with the relative flat cables and the electronic circuit: the cause of the malfunction lies in the excessive oxidation of the components of the circuit itself; wash everything with contact spray and maybe go over the welds; once you have reinstalled everything the buttons will work again.
