Instructions for Removing the Driver's Airbag

Model: Citroen Xsara MK 1 - Years 1997-2006

Before proceeding with the removal of the driver's airbag container, disconnect the battery to cut power to the relevant control unit and prevent a false contact from being interpreted as a collision, which could deploy the airbag or trigger the warning light. Once the battery is disconnected, remove the fixing screws of the airbag container located just behind the spokes of the steering wheel (these are Torx screws); after removing the screws, pull away the container, release the safety catch of the connector, and then disconnect the connector itself.
