When carrying out a complete overhaul of the cylinder head it is important to rectify the surface to eliminate any deformations; after this operation it is however advisable to check the perfect planarity using a ground bar and a thickness gauge for valves. Then proceed with the replacement of the valve seat rubbers by releasing the return spring with the special arc clamp; remove the valve, the old rubber and insert the new one, lubricating it abundantly; insert the spring again. Then install the new camshaft lubricating it with clean oil, fix the end-of-stroke brackets and insert the relative oil seals, lubricating both the seats and the oil seals. Now install the intake manifold by applying the new gaskets in the relevant grooves and tightening the fixing nuts with the torque wrench. Then check the surface of the cylinder base, re-thread the threads of the cylinder head fixing holes, fit the new gasket, the cylinder head itself and the valve frame; then use a new set of pins for fixing the head which will be performed with a dynamometric and graduated wrench. Complete the installation of the timing belt respecting the references of the phase and then carry out the adjustment of the valve clearance. Install the exhaust manifold with the new gaskets and the tappet cover.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
