Instructions for Removing the Driver's Airbag

Model: Citroen C5 DC, MK 1 - Years 2000-2008

First, disconnect the battery to prevent the airbag warning light from coming on and to ensure the device does not accidentally deploy. The driver's airbag is secured to the steering wheel with tabs and a spring, so you need to leverage the tabs to release them. Behind the spokes of the steering wheel, there are two slots where you can insert a flathead screwdriver to pry the tabs. To make this easier, it is advisable to remove the plastic covers of the light switch controls.
