Citroen Xsara - Video tutorial

Model: Citroen Xsara MK 1 - Years 1997-2006
Part: Checks and maintenance
Operation: How to replace front stabilizer bar links on Citroen Xsara Picasso

Let's see how to change the stabilizer bar links on the Xara Picasso. To do this work we will have to raise the car: therefore, let us use a jack and two stands to keep the car raised in safety. We remove the front wheels, and with a wire brush we clean the fasteners of the stabilizer bars, also spraying with WD-40; then we unscrew the fasteners that connect the stabilizer bar link to the bar and the shock absorber strut. While we're at it, it's a good idea to check the stabilizer support sleeves and replace if necessary. Now we install the new bar, tightening the mounting elements by greasing them with copper grease. Before reassembling the wheel, also treat the surface where the brake disc makes contact with the wheel rim with copper grease, then clean the brake with a special cleaner and reassemble the wheel after a few minutes. We repeat on the other side.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
