Replacing Rear Shock Absorbers

Model: Dacia Duster HS, MK 1 - Years 2010-2017

Replacing the rear shock absorbers is practically identical to replacing the front ones, as in this case, the spring is co-axial with the damper. You will also need to remove the interior lining of the boot to access the shock absorber mount. Lower the rear seats, remove the load floor covering in the boot, take out the spare wheel and the polystyrene lining. Then, remove the side plastic trim to access the mount. Lift the vehicle, remove the rear wheel and the link attached to the shock absorber. Use a jack to support the suspension and unscrew the mounting bolts of the shock absorber from the hub mount. Access the boot to complete the disassembly. At this point, apply clamps to the spring to compress it and remove the mount from the shock absorber shaft. Finally, attach the spring, dust cover, and mount to the new shock absorber, then reverse the process for installation.
