Check for Noise from the Engine
Model: Dodge Avenger
MK 1
- Years 2008-2013
If a noise is heard from the engine bay when starting the engine, open the front bonnet and first try to locate the area of the engine from which the noise is coming. Generally, it is likely that the noise is due to a pulley driven by the auxiliary belt: it will be necessary to carefully check which one is responsible for the fault. A first method to analyse the noise can be to use a car stethoscope: wear the stethoscope and bring the probe close to the various pulleys, trying to identify which one is the loudest; alternatively, a long screwdriver can also be used. If there are doubts that the noise may be internal to the engine, disconnect the auxiliary belt so that no pulley can rotate and start the engine. Excluding internal noises, once the belt is removed, manually move each pulley to check if any have play: usually, the noise is attributable to the alternator pulley or the plastic ones on the tensioner or idler pulley.

How to Replace the Spark Plugs of the Chevrolet Spark
Release and lift the bonnet. The first step is to disconnect the battery plugs to protect all electronic components. Now, remove the bolts securing the cover to the engine, disconnecting the hose on the side as well. Disconnect the connectors on top of the coils and then remove the coils by pulling them straight up after removing the bolts that hold them in place. Now, using a socket wrench, unscrew the spark plugs from the bottom of the newly freed hole, taking care not to let too much dirt enter this cylinder. by ScegliAuto More videos
