Replacement of Car Coil

Model: Dodge Caliber MK 1 - Years 2006-2012
Part: Ignition coil

The coil is one of the essential components of your car as it raises the voltage from 12 volts of the battery to the thousands of volts required by the spark plug to create a spark. Due to continuous stress, it can wear out and cause the car to stutter. To remove the old coil for replacement, lift the bonnet and open the plastic grille by acting on the two side clips with a screwdriver. You will then need to disconnect the ignition control unit connector and unscrew the two retaining bolts with a ratchet spanner, lifting the coil pack upwards. You can then fit the new coil, ensuring to position the high-voltage connectors correctly.
