How to remove the steering wheel airbag of the Fiat 500X

To remove the steering wheel airbag of the Fiat 500X car, we need to insert a flat-tipped screwdriver into the right side hole, in order to push the inner lever outwards and unlock the central body of the steering wheel. Disconnect the connector from the central body of the steering wheel to deactivate and remove the airbag.

Before proceeding with this operation, it is advisable to disconnect the battery. After removing the airbag, it is possible to also remove the steering wheel by unscrewing the nut located on the central inner part.

This operation is the same for many other Fiat vehicles and other manufacturers such as Hyundai, Alfa Romeo, Toyota, and so on.
