How to clean a diesel particulate filter with Wurt cleaner

The DPF traps fine particles from the diesel engine. In short urban driving conditions, autonomous regenerations may stop, causing blockages. Action is required when warning lights are illuminated or if you notice a loss of power; for preventive maintenance during the service and if insufficient regenerations are detected, which could lead to very costly damage. Here’s the cleaning procedure. You need to remove the air filter (in this case, we are talking about a Fiat Tipo) and disconnect the DPF pressure/temperature sensor. Remember that the temperature of the filter must be below 50°C (check with a thermometer), and always use protective equipment (gloves, goggles, and a mask). For this purpose, use the Wurt cleaner for diesel particulate filters, which can be found on the eshop.wurt.it website with the EAN code 4050641544117. Insert the probe into the hole of the sensor you previously unscrewed, spray the product with up/down movements for even distribution; allow it to act for a few minutes to dissolve the particulate. Refit the sensor applying copper grease to the threads for future interventions. After cleaning, a static regeneration (like in the video) or dynamic regeneration with a road trip is necessary.
