How to Replace the Timing Belt on a Fiat 126

Before you start, open the rear engine cover of your Fiat 126, then remove the rear crossmember to create the necessary space to work. Begin by unscrewing the pulley that secures the dynamo belt, then remove the belt itself. After that, unclip the remaining half of the pulley. This will give you access to the timing chain. Proceed by unscrewing and removing the bolts that secure the chain sprocket. Once this step is complete, you can remove the chain and the sprocket, finishing the disassembly. To install the new chain and reassemble everything, simply reverse these instructions, and the replacement will be complete.
