Replacing the Front Shock Absorber

Model: Fiat Punto MK 2, 188 - Years 1999-2011

Loosen the wheel nuts and lift the vehicle, securing it safely. Unscrew the bolts and remove the wheel. Unscrew and extract the retaining pins of the arm from the suspension using a 16 mm spanner and push them out. Use penetrating spray to facilitate the operation. Also disconnect the steering tie rod. Using a fixed spanner and a ratchet, remove the suspension bolts and detach the shock absorber. Remove the protective grille in the engine bay with a 16 mm spanner, unscrew the three bolts at the top of the suspension, and perform the same operation on the other shock absorber after removing the expansion tank. Remove the entire suspension assembly and clean off any deposits with a wire brush. Using the appropriate equipment, compress the spring to allow for the removal of the old shock absorber and replace it with a new one. Also replace the spring and rubber boot. Reassemble the suspension on the vehicle in reverse order.
