The coolant temperature sensor is crucial for the proper functioning of the engine; it provides information about the coolant temperature and sends a signal to an indicator on the dashboard of your vehicle. To replace the temperature sensor, first ensure the engine is cold and not running. Lift the bonnet and remove the air filter box using a screwdriver and a spanner. Drain the coolant by disconnecting the hose, then remove the clip and detach the thermostat from the hose; insert the new sensor into the hose. Apply black paste to the gasket and reposition the hose, tightening it. Open the bleed valves to allow the coolant to flow. Reconnect the electrical connector and finally check that the coolant level is correct.
