Fiat Multipla - Video tutorial

Model: Fiat Multipla MK 1 - Years 1998-2010
Part: Alternator
Operation: How to replace the alternator of the Fiat Multipla jtd.

To replace the alternator of the Fiat Multipla jtd, we lift the front of the car from the right side, remove the right wheel, unscrew the screws to remove the fender liner, unscrew the steering head nut with a 17mm socket wrench, unscrew the engine frame bolts with a 20mm socket wrench, remove the service belt by adjusting the tensioner with a 15mm socket wrench, unscrew the alternator bolts (being careful not to lose washers and spacers), disconnect the alternator wires and remove it. Once the alternator is removed, we take the new alternator, position it in place of the old one, screw in the bolts and nuts using the washers and spacers where they were before, connect the alternator wires, remove the spacers in the engine frame, screw in the engine frame bolts with a 20mm socket wrench, position the steering head by screwing in the nut with a 17mm socket wrench, replace the fender liner by screwing in the screws, put on the service belt by adjusting the tensioner with a 15mm socket wrench, and replace the wheel. Finally, we can start the car and verify the correct functioning of the alternator by measuring the voltage at the battery terminals with a tester (it should be 14.4v for proper functioning).

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
