If the instrument cluster display shows an oil change indication, it means the scheduled mileage for maintenance has been reached or the time limit has expired. Proceed with regular maintenance by replacing the engine oil and the corresponding filter (ensure proper disposal of waste).

After maintenance, reset the warning light: this is a manual operation that does not require diagnostic tools. Turn on the ignition without starting the engine and press the accelerator pedal fully down three times.

How to open the bonnet on a Volkswagen Golf?
