How do you reset the TCM control unit of Ford vehicles?

In order to reset the TCM control unit that regulates the automatic transmission of Ford vehicles, it is necessary to insert the ignition key into the ignition switch, turn it to turn on the instrument panel: you will need to start the engine and leave it running at idle for about five minutes. Then you will need to press the brake pedal and move the gear selector through all the positions indicated next to the lever; once this operation is completed, you can drive the car normally and verify that the transmission has been fully restored.
