How to Remove the Alternator on a Ford Focus

Follow these steps to replace the alternator on a Ford Focus. Pull the lever located at the bottom left of the dashboard and lift the bonnet, securing it in place. Locate the battery and disconnect the terminals. Use a socket wrench to unscrew the bolts, being careful not to damage the wiring harness membranes, then unscrew all the fastening bolts of the alternator. Once disassembly is complete, remove it from the engine bay. Now take the new replacement part and insert it into the appropriate housing, screw in the fastening bolts, and then tighten the side bolts of the alternator.
