How do you remove the tailgate lock on a Ford Focus? Let's see how to do it. Open and lift the tailgate of your car. Using a screwdriver, unscrew the securing screws located in the plastic panel (where the handles are). Remove the plastic cover on the tailgate of the boot (use a plastic or metal lever to assist) and disconnect any electrical connectors. Remove the faulty lock and fit a new one. Follow the same procedure in reverse for reassembling the plastic covers and associated parts.
