How to Reset the BMS of the Ford Focus MK4

On the Ford Focus MK4, the BMS reset is performed from the instrument cluster without tools. With the vehicle stationary, turn the ignition to ON (engine off). Within a few seconds, activate the main beam five times in a row using the lever on the left of the steering wheel, then press the brake pedal three times without starting the engine. If the sequence is recognised, the battery warning light will flash to confirm, and the system will enter the reset state. At this point, turn off the ignition, wait a few seconds, and turn it back on to check that no battery adaptation warnings appear. If the recognition does not occur on the first attempt, repeat the sequence following the same order and timing (5 main beam flashes + 3 brake presses with the ignition ON, engine off).
