Ford Focus: Where to Find the Fuses and Relay Boxes

On the Ford Focus, fuses are not located in just one place: there are usually at least two boxes, one in the cabin and one in the engine bay. On some versions (especially station wagons), there may also be an additional box in the boot. To find the cabin fuse box, first check the driver's and passenger's side areas. Depending on the model, you may find it behind a small side cover on the dashboard (by opening the door and removing the panel), or under the glove compartment/footwell area of the passenger side, behind a plastic cover. Once you open the flap, you will usually see the row of fuses and often a fuse puller. The fuse box in the engine bay is almost always near the battery or close to the wheel arch, with a snap-on lid. Open the bonnet, locate the rectangular plastic box, and unclip the lid tabs: inside you will find the main fuses and often some relays. If you need to work on a fuse, do so with the ignition off and replace it only with one of the same amperage (same colour/number). If a fuse blows again immediately, there is usually a downstream problem (short circuit or faulty component) and it is advisable to diagnose before continuing to replace it.
