To replace the engine air filter on a second-generation Ford EcoSport, turn off the engine, wait for it to cool, and open the bonnet. Locate the air filter box in the engine compartment, connected to the intake duct.

Loosen the screws securing the airbox cover, and if necessary, free any hoses or components that hinder its removal. Open the housing and extract the old filter element, paying attention to its position.

Remove any dust, leaves, and debris from the box without letting them enter the intake duct. Insert the new filter in the same position, ensuring the edge fits evenly in the seat.

Refit the cover, tighten the screws, and reconnect any components removed. Finally, check that the airbox is properly closed and that the intake duct is securely fastened.
