Replacement of the Electric Fuel Pump

Model: Ford Ranger MK 2 - Years 1993-1997

Empty the fuel tank. Lift the vehicle on a ramp and begin disconnecting the various fuel lines and electrical cables from the tank, placing a container underneath to catch any fuel that spills out. Using a ratchet spanner with an extension, remove the two bolts of the metal strap that supports the tank. Once the tank is freed from its supports, remove it and place it on a work surface. Before proceeding with the removal of the pump, clean the surrounding area thoroughly. Rotate the locking ring on top of the pump a quarter turn, and now you can extract the pump from the tank, allowing any remaining fuel to drain out. Replace the pump with a new one, following the installation instructions provided in the packaging. Before refitting the pump, clean the tank opening thoroughly. Refit the tank, reconnect the lines and the pump connector.
