Replacement of External Door Handle

This tutorial shows how to repair, install, modify, or replace an external door handle on a Ford Ranger. Start by removing the cover of the internal window handle; this will give you access to the screw that secures it to the door. Unscrew it and remove the handle. Unscrew the two star screws that secure the cover around the internal opening handle: remove the cover. Unscrew the two screws that secure the internal door panel, then slide it out and manually detach the adhesive plastic cover. From the inside, detach the tension bar of the handle with your fingers. Using a nail (as a chisel) and a hammer or a drill, remove the bolts securing the handle. Extract it and, after retrieving the tension bar, apply it to the new handle. Insert it into its slot, first introducing the bar which will be hooked as before. At this point, place and secure the two (new) bolts that lock the handle. Test the operation of the handle, then reassemble the interior of the door by reversing the steps taken to disassemble it.
