Replacing the thermostat on a Ford Fiesta? Let's see how to remove it from the engine bay. Open the front bonnet, locate the part to be removed. To remove the thermostat, you need to take off the alternator above it using a socket spanner (disconnect the battery terminals and the belt). Once the bolts are undone, detach the alternator belt. Pull the alternator out of its housing. Disconnect the pipe under the alternator and extract the thermostat valve. Fit a new thermostat valve, secure the pipe. Refit the alternator and tighten the screws, reattach the drive belt (connect the power). Close the front bonnet. Test the vehicle's proper functioning with the ignition.
