Replacing the Windscreen Washer Pump on a Ford Fiesta

Before starting any maintenance operation on a vehicle, it is essential to take precautions to ensure the operator's safety by positioning the car on a level surface or on a lift. The windscreen washer pump in the 2004 Ford Fiesta is located at the front of the vehicle, so open the engine bay and first remove the grille, then the left headlamp unit, as one of the three screws securing it is underneath. Now, locate the windscreen washer reservoir and the corresponding pump. Disconnect the electrical supply, detach the two hoses, and simply pull the pump out of its housing. Replace it with a new one and reassemble everything by following the previously described operations in reverse. To prevent the new pump from breaking again, it is advisable to apply silicone to protect the electrical contacts from water.
