In this brief guide, you will learn how to reset the control unit on a first-generation Ford Focus using the following instructions. First, open the bonnet of your car and obtain a 10 mm socket or star key; then, undo the two battery terminals (positive and negative), as shown in the video.

This will disconnect the ECU from the power supply, effectively performing a reset. After a couple of minutes, reconnect the battery and start the engine.
