Ford Focus - Video tutorial

Model: Ford Focus MK 1 - Years 1998-2004
Part: Steering wheel
Operation: Disassembly of steering wheel equipped with airbag

With this video, we will show you step by step all the steps to remove the steering wheel equipped with an airbag. First of all you have to disconnect the battery, removing the negative pole first. Allow at least 5-10 minutes to elapse before starting work in order to safeguard the system and the airbag as it is. To continue, you will need to turn the steering wheel to one side by locating the first screw on the back of the latter. Then turn the steering wheel in the opposite direction to access the second screw. Unhook the airbag from its seat and use a tool to release the clip and the relative cable connector on the rear. Return the steering wheel to the central position, remove the keys from the ignition and move the steering wheel until the steering lock clicks. With the appropriate wrench, unscrew the screw and remove the steering wheel. Car model: Ford Focus Tools required: 6-24mm socket wrench, screwdriver

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
