Replacing the Engine Air Filter

Model: Ford Escort MK 4 - Years 1990-2000

The engine air filter housing (Air Box) is located at the front right of the engine bay (when viewed from the front): to extract the old filter, unclip the metal tabs that secure it to the base of the box; once the clips are released, unscrew the screw located at the front left corner and lift the cover to remove the old filter; ensure there are no dirt residues inside the filter box (remove them carefully to prevent them from entering the intake duct) and fit the new filter, ensuring the seal adheres perfectly to the edges; then reposition and secure the cover.
