Ford Escort - Video tutorial

Model: Ford Escort MK 4 - Years 1990-2000
Part: Engine
Operation: Replacing the tappet cover gasket

Failure of the tappet cover gasket (i.e. of the camshaft cover that controls the valves) is a fairly recurring defect in older generation cars and due to which oil leaks occur which, ending up on the hot engine block, also generate unsightly smells that can also end up in the passenger compartment; to replace this gasket, disassemble the cover, carefully clean the relative seat both under the cover and on the head and then apply the new cork gasket without adding gasket mastic; finally, tighten the cover fixing pins according to a crossed pattern and using the torque wrench.

How to open the bonnet of the Volkswagen Polo

Let's see in this short and simple guide the instructions that will allow us to open the bonnet of the Volkswagen Polo. First of all we open the front door, on the driver's side, and start pulling the opening lever of the engine hood, in order to open the lock; then let's move to the front of the vehicle and unhook the tab that we find on the central part, above the manufacturer's emblem, as shown in the video. At this point we block the bonnet with the lateral rod; then we accompany the bonnet down to close it again!
